Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration on May 5 which commemorates Mexico’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

However, this holiday is treated as another excuse to drink and party with friends and family.

If you’re looking for some fun activities to do next Thursday, here is a list of 3 events in the area:

1. The Wooden Match in Bethlehem is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Block Party on Friday, May 5 at 4 p.m.

“We will have live music, food trucks, beer trucks, cigars, tequila bar, high noon bar, games & more!” states the Wooden Match website.

This event is family-friendly, so children and pets are welcome.

Food trucks include Taco Town, Lehigh Valley BBQ, Pats Bistro and more.

Live music for Friday and Sunday will feature DJ Jamal Knight and Saturday will feature Rusty Snow.
