As the weather gets chilly and Uggs once again become acceptable to wear, my mind begins to race with all the activities I want to get to before the bitter cold of winter creeps in.

Here in the Poconos, there are a lot of things to do that are Fall related since the weather is usually ideal. I have compiled a list of my favorite things to do during spooky season, whether they are Halloween related or just activities to enjoy during the Fall. These can be fun to do solo or with friends.

1. Go on a Walk

Taking a hike or even a leisurely walk to enjoy the colors of Autumn can help to ease your mind and get some exercise before it is too cold and snowy.

2. Visit Mazezilla

Mazezilla is a great place to go to enjoy so many different Fall activities like their farmstand, corn maze, petting zoo and fair-style food trucks. It is open during the day and into the night for a different atmosphere depending on when you go.

3. Listen to a Fall Vibes Playlist

Whether your taste is mellow or more somber, there are plenty of tracks to make a great playlist for the season. New albums from Drake, Paramore and Doja Cat would also make good additions.

4. Visit a Halloween store

Whether you are shopping or just looking, Spirit Halloween, Frazetta’s Costumes, or even Party City can be a fun time. Looking at all the costumes, decorations and creepy animatronics is a good way to get you into the spirit of Halloween (no pun intended).

5. Grab a Coffee

Taking the time to stop for coffee, either at a small café or Dunkin’ can be a nice way to take a break and enjoy the season. If you are like me, iced coffee is a year-round drink, and I cannot wait to try the Ice Spice Munchkin drink.

6. Watch a Nostalgic Movie

Watching a “nostalgic” movie could mean a favorite scary movie, a classic that you have not seen in a while, or anything that puts you in the mood of the season. I rented “October Sky” from the library last week and it brought my entire family together to rewatch one of our favorite films.

7. Pick a Pumpkin to Carve

Visiting a pumpkin patch or just getting a pumpkin from the store to carve is a fun Halloween activity for any age, especially if you make a contest out of whose pumpkin is carved the best! If you do not want to touch pumpkin guts, going to a pumpkin patch to take pictures can be fun too.

I am planning on diving into these Autumn activities as soon as I am caught up with all my schoolwork, and I hope you can find time to enjoy the season too!
