“College ties can ne’er be broken

They can never die,

Far surpassing wealth unspoken

Sealed in friendships tie.”

In Dedication –

October has always suggested Homecoming Day at E.S.S.T.C. This year, however, war-time conditions have made the observance of this annual festival an impossibility. Of all campus events, the annual Homecoming festivities have always been among those most enjoyed and naturally everyone concerned regrets their present omission from the social calendar.

We like to honor former students. They are deserving of remembrance. Their contributions to their Alma Mater have been lasting. Those who are at present engaged in college activities are ever mindful of days gone by when Alumni too, were preparing for service. We have sensed this prevailing spirit of appreciation.

It is our hope that this dedication may in some small way serve as an expression of this same appreciation. We want all the Alumni to return and share the spirit of E.S.S.T.C. whenever the opportunity is presented. Remember, Alumni, you are always welcome at E.S.S.T.C. The invitation is a standing one, everyone will be happy to see you and there will always be someone to “clasp” a hand in friendship.

ESU’s 2023 Homecoming week just recently occurred from Oct. 2-7. As it was in 1943, it is a great time for faculty, staff, students, alumni and family to come together and enjoy the welcoming campus community.
