Only critical style issues have been changed.

Gamma Xi chapter of Kappa Delta Pi held its first meeting of the year on Thursday, Oct. 9. A new counselor, Mr. McGarry, was elected. The aims and purposes of the society are expressed in its constitution as follows:

“The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi shall be to encourage high intellectual and scholastic standards and to recognize outstanding contributions to education.”

To this end it shall invite to membership such persons as exhibit commendable personal qualities, worthy educational ideals, and sound scholarship. It shall endeavor to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members and to quicken professional growth by honoring achievement in education work.

The following students have met these qualifications and have been duly invited into Kappa Delta Pi membership: Anne Bukowski, June Bateman, Alma Cole, Betty Gardner, Goldie Gross, Chester Kemp, Beatrice Lewis.

The officers of the Gamma Xi chapter are: President, Henry Topfer; Vice President, Lillian Chester; Recording Secretary, Doris Marvin; Treasurer, Mildred Wood; Historical, Harriet Wieland.

ESU still has this chapter of Kappa Delta Pi today.

Invitations to join the organization are extended to junior and senior education majors who exhibit excellent academic achievement and work ethic. The goal of its’ constitution remains nearly the same as it was in 1941.

On the ESU website, the goal of Kappa Delta Pi is that it “endeavors to maintain a higher degree of professional fellowship among its members and to quicken professional growth by honoring achievement in educational work.”

For more information about the organization, students can visit the ESU website or contact the faculty advisors, Dr. Brooke Lanigan and Dr. Shawn Watkins.
