The Sherman Theater is one of the Pocono’s beautiful local treasures. As a performing arts center, the theater houses various performing artists, shows and can also host private events. Throughout the remainder of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, The Sherman Theater will be hosting many different events.

Upcoming shows visiting the theater include a Bee Gees tribute, a Lil Tecca concert and an NY Kings Comedy tour, among many others.

“I’ve been there a few times and the space is really versatile and open. They have many different artists and groups come, and I’ve liked all the shows that I’ve seen there,” said sophomore Kovii LaBar.

Ticket prices for shows will vary depending on the artist and other factors, but students may also be interested in learning that Lil Tecca will be performing there on Nov. 12, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Prices for the event range from $37 to $47.

The Sherman also recently announced the Battle of the Bands event. Set to take place on Friday, Dec. 15, eight bands will be competing to win an $800 first-place prize. Each band, however, will receive some funding, with the second place winning $450 and the third winning $250. All the other bands will take home $100.

“Get ready to rock the stage at the Battle of the Bands” reads the Sherman Theater’s official website.

Another locally-focused event will be the Sherman Winter CraftFest. Held on Jan. 13 and 14. The event will be free admission and include over 70 craft vendors open to the general public.

“I recommend checking the Sherman out!” added LaBar.
