Meet the New Editor-in-Chief: Gavin Vondercrone

The Stroud Courier welcomes Gavin Vondercrone as the new Editor-in-Chief. 

Vondercrone, 20 years old and a sophomore at ESU, has been a part of the newspaper for just over a year. He is an English major with a concentration in professional and digital media writing. 

“My favorite thing about being on the Stroud Courier is how much closer it’s brought me to the ESU community as a whole,”  Vondercrone said. 

When Vondercrone is not doing schoolwork he likes to play basketball, hike and listen to music. When questioning him on what his all time favorite song is he expressed that “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye is his all time favorite. 

He likes to spend time with his family when he goes back home on break. He revealed that he and his father actually share the same favorite movie. The movie Shawshank Redemption being a movie that his father showed him.

When Vondercrone graduates he plans on working in sport journalism in some shape or form. He joined the Stroud Courier to gain experience as a writer and a leader in the journalism field. 

Before leaving the interview the Stroud Courier ask Vondercrone one question: What would you like the people to know?

“One thing I would like people to know is that I’m a big Philly sports fan. Go birds!!” he said.
