Something new and exciting is coming to the Stroudsburg area, it’s a Cat Cafe!

The owner Amanda Counterman is teaming up with a rescue to bring feline friends to the Poconos. Her love for cats sparked this adventure and with her experience working at a PetSmart in North Carolina allowed her dream to come true.

“I’m really excited to bring the first cat cafe to the Poconos and I can’t wait to help these kitties find their forever home,” Counterman stated.

The cats that will be joining us at Cozy Kitty Cafe in the Poconos are coming from North Carolina. Facilitate Rescue Inc, the shelter that is teaming up with Counterman is committed to help save kittens and cats that are in danger of being euthanized.

There will be an admission fee to be able to play with the furry friends that inhabit Cozy Kitty Cafe but every admission fee will go to the cats that are housed in the cafe.

ESU students will be given a discount on Wednesday and Thursday.

Even if you do not want to hang out with the cats you can still go and enjoy the free Wifi, drinks and snacks. Don’t worry about cat hair getting into them either because the cats are separated from the cafe part.

Make sure you say “hello” to the manager, Smokie, if you stop by during the week. Smokie is Counterman’s rescue cat that she had fostered in North Carolina.

To spot him just search for the handsome grey cat in a bow-tie with a manager tag on him. Although Smokie is cute and very responsible in his manager position, Counterman would like to make sure people know that he is not up for adoption.

All cats in the cafe will be up for adoption and would have gone to the vet to get all their check ups they need. Such as getting spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated, dewormed, combo tested, and microchipped.

The cats are set to arrive May 21 to be able to get acclimated to their new environment. Cozy Kitty Cafe is set to open in early June of this year.

If you would like to donate to the cafe there is an Amazon Wish List and a donation button on the website.
